Domino Joiner
The Festool Domino DF 500 is a precision joinery tool used to create mortise and tenon joints with ease.
Mortise width adjustment with the turn of a dial allows for easier alignment when joining panels. Pivoting Fence allows you to create angled mortises from 0-90° with positive stops at 22.5°, 45°, 67.5°.
How to use
- Before Use:
- Select the Correct Domino Size: Choose the appropriate Domino (tenon) size for your project. Refer to the Festool chart if needed.
- Adjust Depth and Width Settings: Set the correct depth and width on the tool according to the material thickness and desired joint strength.
- Secure the Workpiece: Always clamp the material securely to prevent movement during cutting
- Tolerances: As per manual, consider only using one tenon at exact width. Oversize spare mortises to account for inaccuracies.
- During Use:
- Align Properly: Use the alignment pins or guides to position the tool accurately over your mark for consistent mortises.
- Mortise width : Do not change the mortise width unless the machine is running.
- Operate Smoothly: Turn on the Domino and plunge smoothly into the material without forcing. Let the tool do the work.
- Use Dust Extraction: Always connect to the dust extraction system using the 230V outlets marked “Auto Suction” to keep the workspace clean and reduce wear on the machine.
- After Use:
- Clean Up: Disconnect from the suction system and clear any wood dust or debris from the tool.
- Store Dominos and Accessories: Place all tenons, cutters, and accessories back in their designated storage compartments.
