Files and rasps

Files are useful for fine shaping and smoothing wood before sanding, Rasps are useful for rough shaping.

ATM provides an assortment of different files, a single rasp and a series of pneumatic rasp tools.

Note that the pneumatic rotating rasp come in two types: 6mm and 1/4 inch. Use the appropriate tool for the job.

ATM provides these tools for fine tuning and finishing work, not for bulk material removal. If possible, use another tool to cut away as much material before proceeding with the rasps and files.

How to use

  1. Before Use:
    • Watch the instructional videos on how to use the tool, ensure even controlled and even strokes.
    • Remove as much material with a suitable tool if possible.
  2. During Use:
    • Only use the tool for solid wood.
  3. After Use:
    • Remove any wood debris from the tools
    • Store in the appropriate location

Maintenance

  1. Regular Maintenance:
    • Remove any wood debris to prevent tool from being clogged
  2. Troubleshooting:
    • If a file or rasp is not sharp enough, contact atm@atm.nu to get sharpened or replaced.
    • Do not attempt to sharpen yourself!
